Aviation education is a core value at Hartzell. The students of today are the pilots of tomorrow, and Western Michigan University College of Aviation has produced some of the finest men and women in the skies. The college was founded in 1939 as the WMU School of Aviation. Today it serves over 700 undergraduate students and offers degrees in aviation flight, aviation management and aviation maintenance technology.
WMU utilizes several training airplanes equipped with our aluminum aircraft propellers, including the Cirrus SR-20 and the PA-44 Seminole. Hartzell, in turn, has benefited from the expertise of employees who graduated from WMU’s aviation program, including Steve Reindel, our Manager of Aftermarket Accounts. Steve earned his degree in Aviation Technology & Maintenance in 1992, and he has proved an invaluable member of our team.
