PIQUA, Ohio — September 9, 1994 — The Hartzell Service Center announced today that it has received from the FAA an amendment to STC SA1505GL allowing installation of an electric propeller de-icing system.

The Top Prop™ three-bladed conversion for the Mooney M20K (231, 252 and TSE) will now be available with electric de-ice for those aircraft that currently have electric prop de-ice equipment on their original equipment two-bladed propeller.

The de-ice kit is available in both 14 volt and 28 volt configurations to match aircraft electrical systems. Neither the original propeller de-icing system nor this conversion are certified for flight into known icing conditions.

For those operators who already have the Top Prop™ conversion and have been waiting for de-ice approval, the kit can be installed by the Hartzell Service Center or by your local FBO.

A new three-bladed Hartzell prop and spinner including the de-ice kit will sell for $8,995 plus installation. Cost for the de-ice kit alone will be $2,200 plus installation.
