June 26, 2013…..Hartzell Propeller, Inc. adds to its market-leading Top Prop aftermarket program applications with a newly-certificated, scimitar aluminum propeller. Designed for installation on current production Cessna T206H Turbo Stationair aircraft, the 3-blade unit improves aircraft performance significantly. The new propeller is also available with aircraft-compatible de-ice boots.

The propeller diameter is 82” in contrast to the 79” original installed at Cessna.

The comprehensive kit includes an extended hub and a polished aluminum spinner, as well as all STC documentation. Proven, flight-tested performance enhancements include a 10 percent improvement in climb performance and an increase in the cruise performance of 1- 4 knots, improving with altitude.

Top Prop general manager, Mike Trudeau, is enthusiastic about this newest Top Prop in the line. “This is a very popular airplane for charter operators and bush environments, and pilots will immediately witness the improvements in our newest offering.

“Not only does the performance chart show pleasing deltas, we do it quietly”, Trudeau added. “Measured per FAR 36, Appendix G, noise levels are at an acceptable 81.2 dB(a) at the airplanes’ 3600 lb. maximum gross weight. Whether wheel, float, or amphibious float equipped, we think this Top Prop application will be very popular with late Turbo-Stationair operators.”

The introductory list prices for the new three-blade propeller kits are $11,700 and 12,800 for the de-ice model.

The Top Prop Program at Hartzell started in 1991 with the purchase of three, three blade, prop-only STCs. These conversions were for the Mooney M20, the Piper Arrow, and the Cessna Cardinal. The current catalog offers over 65 company owned STC’s, and over 170 unique conversion kits.

Hartzell Propeller is widely recognized as the leader in advanced propeller design and manufacturing technology. The company has developed the next generation of propellers based upon innovative “blended airfoil” technology and is manufacturing these blades using a combination of revolutionary machining centers and robotics; and with its new ASC-II(TM) composite technology, to provide mission-optimized performance for its customers.

Hartzell Propeller traces its beginnings in 1917 to a business relationship with Orville Wright and was founded on the principle of “Built on Honor” – a tradition that continues today.
