Hartzell Proudly Partners with Piqua’s Young People

If you follow Hartzell Propeller on Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn, you probably already know that we are looking to hire a new CMM Programmer. You may not have known that we go far beyond just hiring generations of talented aviation engineers; we are also hard at work inspiring the next generation of aircraft innovators.

Last Friday was graduation day at Bennett Intermediate Elementary School here in Piqua, Ohio. Bennett is Hartzell’s partner school, and we did our best to give these eighty-four bright young men and women a send-off they would remember.

The students prepared for the next phase of their education by dressing up, learning about etiquette and being treated to a catered meal and a dance party. While the youngsters enjoyed the promise of youth and chance to dance around during school hours, the older folks reflected on the fact that the greatest things often come from the humblest beginnings.

It’s a joy to work with and get to know these young folks throughout the school year, from the field trip to Wright Patterson Air Force Museum to the holiday decorating to Rocket Day and the weekly tutoring program.  We hope to inspire them as much as they bring laughter and energy to us.  The sixth grade send off is meant to be a way for us to congratulate these young people on their greatest educational achievement to date, but it is also a way of saying thank you for reminding us to reach for the stars and never stop dreaming.
