It may be hard to imagine, but aviation was not always a global industry. When Robert Hartzell began making airplane propellers for the Wright brothers, aviation was considered a spectacle. A lot has changed since that time. As air travel has spread across the world, Hartzell surged forward to match global demand. That trend continues today as we move to keep pace with the growing aviation community in China.
The number of aircraft certified for use in China is rapidly expanding, and we are committed to ensuring Chinese aviators have access to the world’s most technologically advanced propellers. Our team is so dedicated to this goal that we have chosen not to wait for new aircraft to be certified before seeking new propeller STCs. Our goal is to be ahead of the curve, so that Chinese pilots have immediate access to our cutting edge technology.
Recently, Hartzell established a dedicated Type Certificate Validation Department, with a particular focus on working alongside the Civil Aviation Administration of China. On October 7, this newly formed department announced an exciting step forward in their endeavor. Hartzell’s blended airfoil aluminum propellers are now approved for the Cessna TTx and Mooney Acclaim aircraft. These STCs are just the latest in Hartzell’s long line of approvals for the Chinese market. Read the full release here to see the entire list.
