PIQUA, Ohio — March 31, 1997 — Hartzell Propeller Inc. announced today completion of a major facility expansion including an entirely new main headquarters building. The $4 million addition and renovation has enabled the company to consolidate the Product Engineering, Marketing, Sales and Product Support groups with its main manufacturing and assembly plant. Hartzell also maintains three other facilities: a composites manufacturing plant; an engineering test center; and a factory service center.

More than 70 people have been moved in this expansion, marking the end of an era with the closing of the company’s original facility, which was built prior to the company’s founding in 1917. The additional office space will provide room for continued growth of the company which has recently expanded to more than 310 employees. As part of the expansion, renovations were also completed on the former Administration, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance offices. The renovations have fostered a more effective working environment by providing an “open office” design, with employees clustered into teams. This allows for more effective communication among teams that work closely together.

Key design elements of the new building include free-flow, curved clerestory windows, a Hartzell product gallery for visitors, a state-of-the-art conference center, and a unique employee meeting center with indoor and outdoor eating facilities.
