PIQUA, Ohio — June 3, 1996 — Hartzell announced today that it has received type certificate number P001 from Indonesia’s Directorate General of Air Communications (DGAC). The TC covers Hartzell HC-E4A-3I propellers which are utilized on Raytheon’s popular Beech 1900D.

This Hartzell propeller system was designed specifically for the 1900D but is part of the company’s growing family of lightweight, high-performance composite propellers utilized throughout the regional airline industry. The system includes four structural composite blades with proprietary Hartzell designed airfoils, a split aluminum hub and an aluminum spinner. The propellers save nearly 10 pounds per blade or 80 pounds per aircraft compared to conventional aluminum blade technology.
