PIQUA, Ohio — February 14, 1996 — A wider range of Piper PA-28 operators can now take advantage of Hartzell’s popular Top Prop™ high-performance three-bladed propeller conversion. Both early and late model Arrows (PA-28-180s and 201s) have been added to Hartzell’s existing PA-28R-200 STC (Supplemental Type Certificate).

The new prop is designed with a blade twist distribution that maximizes low speed thrust while maintaining or increasing cruise performance. The system is part of Hartzell’s growing family of proven, constant speed designs that feature a compact aluminum hub and aluminum blades.

Hartzell’s three-bladed propeller airfoil design provides a number of flight performance improvements over original equipment two-bladers. These include: superior acceleration, take-off and climb, as well as lower cabin and flyover noise levels. The system also delivers an improved 2000 hour/5 year TBO and the exclusive Hartzell Plus Three™ warranty which provides a full three years or 1000 hours of coverage.

Hartzell propeller conversions offer pilots one of the easiest and most economical methods for improving the performance of their aircraft. And now with the addition of the full range of Piper Arrows, the Top Prop family represents the largest and most complete propeller conversion offering in the world.

Hartzell Propeller Inc. is the world’s leading manufacturer of propeller systems, enjoying an 85 percent market share on corporate turboprops and a 60 percent share on turboprop airliners. The 78-year-old company is also well-known for its design leadership, having introduced the industry’s first full-feathering propellers for light twins, the first fully-reversing propellers for corporate turboprops and the industry’s first composite structure blades.
