PIQUA, Ohio — July 5, 1995 — Hartzell Propeller Inc. broke ground today on a major expansion of its main headquarters building at One Propeller Place (located on the west side of Piqua on State Route 36). The $3,000,000 addition and renovation will provide for consolidation of the company’s Product Engineering, Sales and Product Support, Program Management, and Engineering Test Lab facilities … with its main manufacturing and assembly plant.

Hartzell’s existing composites manufacturing plant, and factory service center will continue to comprise two additional facilities located in Piqua. Plans are to utilize the building on Washington Avenue for storage. This building was the company’s first headquarters and served as the primary manufacturing facility for many years.

More than 70 people will be moved in the expansion which is set to be completed by June of 1996. The additional office space will provide for a more effective work environment as well as for continued growth of the company which has recently expanded to more than 300 employees. As part of the expansion more than 40 existing offices will also be completely renovated.

Key design elements of the new building include free-flow, curved clerestory windows, a Hartzell product gallery for visitors, a state-of-the-art conference center, space for all-hands meetings, and a unique lunch room.

Lorenz & Williams Inc. and Danis Building Construction Company, both of Dayton, are the prime architects and contractors for the project.
