Hartzell Propeller has completed STC testing to certify a three-blade propeller for the Piper Cherokee 235 that demonstrates noticeably improved take-off performance. The testing results have now been submitted to the FAA for final approval and the STC is expected to be issued soon.
Oshkosh, WI – August 8, 2001 — Hartzell Propeller today announced that it has completed STC (Supplemental Type Certificate) testing to certify a three-blade propeller for the Piper Cherokee 235. The testing results have now been submitted to the FAA for final approval and the STC is expected to be issued soon.
The FAA DER (Designated Engineering Representative) test pilot who tested the three-blade, 78-inch diameter constant-speed propeller for certification, reported noticeably improved take-off performance. During flight testing, the pilot also registered climb improvements of up to 100 feet per minute with no loss in cruise performance.
The kit uses a spinner that better matches the cowling of the aircraft for improved appearance, while the propeller offers the advantage of increased ground clearance and a longer TBO interval.
The kit includes the 78-inch diameter three-blade aluminum bladed propeller with Scimitar swept blades, a polished spinner assembly and the required STC documents.
List price for the kit is $ 7,495.00.
Hartzell’s Top PropTM conversion kits feature improved service and maintenance benefits including a six-year, 2,400 TBO (the longest service interval available). The propeller also has the Hartzell Plus Three – warranty, covering parts and service for up to three years or 1,000 hours.
Hartzell propeller conversions offer pilots one of the easiest and most economical methods for improving the performance of their aircraft. With a wide variety of Beech, Cessna, Commander, Mooney, Piper, and SOCATA aircraft kits available, the Top Prop family represents the largest and most complete propeller conversion offering in the world.
